  • LIVERPOOL LABOUR LEADER, JOE ANDERSON, HAS LAUNCHED AN INNOVATIVE SCHEME TO HELP HOUSE BUYERS PAY MORTGAGE DEPOSITS

    January 14, 2014

Joe went down to Lloyds TSB, on Church Street, to sign the agreement partnering the City Council with the bank, providing £3million of cash to help make homes more affordable.

The scheme will help up to 200 families. If the scheme is successful, it will not only help first time buyers get a vital foot hold on the property ladder, but it will also give a much needed boost to the local housing industry.

    Joe said: “Times are hard.”

“Families are finding it tough to find affordable housing. And with lenders asking for big deposits, it simply isn’t possible for many families to take out the mortgages they need to buy a new home.”

“So the deal is simple: We’ll lend you the money to pay your deposit, helping you get on the property ladder.”

“This will give a kick start to housing schemes. When the money is repaid, it’ll be recycled back into the scheme, giving even more people the chance to purchase new homes.”

“I want to see this scheme succeed. If it does, I want to see it grow.”
